The adoption of the name “Libra” was inspired by the astrological symbol and its association with balance. As noted elsewhere in this website, the body is subjected to many outside influences that act to disrupt its natural balance; a balance that massage can help to restore. Libra Therapeutics exists to encourage people to take a break for a little “Me time,” in order to re-establish balance and aid the body in its natural healing process. At least for the duration of the massage my client has taken a break from rushing around and merely has to lie down, relax and enjoy.
My name is Dave Clarke and I am ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) qualified in Holistic Massage incorporating the requisite level of knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I am also a member of the Complementary Therapists Association and adhere to its Code of Practice. I have subsequently continued professional training at the Jing Institute of Advanced Massage. I have concentrated on the Holistic Medical Massage Series covering carpal tunnel, neck and shoulder, shoulder girdle, low back pain, hip and pelvis and leg, knee, and foot. Additionally I have completed the Table Thai Course. I am listed on the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) register, having met the criteria to do so. The CNHC has the support of the Department of Health as seen in the press section of the CNHC website (see “Links”). I have received massage for a number of years and fully appreciate the benefits that can be derived. I believe this experience makes me well-placed to now offer a dedicated, effective and client-focused service. I
operate from East Berkshire but offer a mobile service or pick-up at
the local railway station by appointment.
